Formed in 1978, AAII is an independent nonprofit corporation that assists individuals in becoming effective managers of their own assets. The association was started by James B. Cloonan because, he believed, there was no defender and promoter of the individual investor. The organization is dedicated to empowering individual investors by offering the analysis and tools needed to achieve personal financial goals.
